A lot of it is just getting up and smoking cigarettes and pacing, going to get some lunch, going back.īijou Phillips: Sleeping, thinking, printing things out, taping them, just trying to paint on the walls. I really need three weeks to be able to like focus on this and get fat and sit in my house and eat Cheetos and just work on this. I mean, a couple hours here and there but not enough. I haven't been able to touch this script in the past two months. This is the first minute I've had to revise and I don't even have this minute. IGN For Men: How do you find the time to write a screenplay and write songs and act?īijou Phillips: I don't know. IGN For Men: You don't want to work with the same team as I'd Rather Eat Glass?īijou Phillips: I do but I want to make a different record. It's kind of hard, though, because it's hard to find people to work with that are good. IGN For Men: Are you working on a new album?īijou Phillips: Yeah. Do you still feel that way?īijou Phillips: I love writing songs, it's my favorite thing to do. IGN For Men: You've said in the past that music was your true path. It's over." "Did you sign a contract?" "I don't give a ****!". IGN For Men: So you'd have some control over it?īijou Phillips: Yeah, so I could be there and be like, "What? You can't cut that line! Are you kidding me? No! **** you! That's it, we're done. I'd have to direct it or at least star in it or something. IGN For Men: At the very least you'll have to direct it as well.īijou Phillips: Exactly. I want it to stay in my computer for the rest of my life. I just want to get a good draft done and then I'm going to hand it to somebody. IGN For Men: Do you have a development deal for it?īijou Phillips: Not yet, I'm still trying to figure it out. It's about these girls in Malibu and they're horseback riders, and all the stuff that happens to them. IGN For Men: Can you tell us what it's about?īijou Phillips: It's hard to describe. IGN For Men: How long have you been working on it?īijou Phillips: I don't even know. IGN For Men: Script writing is something I've thought about doing but I don't think I have the discipline.īijou Phillips: Oh God. It's really sad, I just had to cut out this scene that I spent two months on. I'm revising it and it's making me so depressed. I like to write, you know? I like writing: writing's my favorite thing.īijou Phillips: Song writing, book writing, script writing - I'm writing a script right now. But, I guess, music is my favorite out of everything. It was more like letting people take pictures of me. Which of the modeling/music/acting do you prefer?īijou Phillips: I never really was a model, it only lasted like three months. IGN For Men: You've done a little bit of everything in your career. Become a professional horseback rider or something. You'll have to find new goals.īijou Phillips: I know, I need new goals. IGN For Men: I guess there wouldn't be any place left to go if you've done it all. IGN For Men: Is there anything you wish you'd done by this point?īijou Phillips: No, I've done all my goals by 20. IGN For Men: No, it's about the same situation, actually. IGN For Men: Yeah, emotionally I was still floundering. not necessarily a family but more of, I guess, relationships. IGN For Men: I thought that I would've had more of. Not so much what I wouldn't be able to do in the future but what I thought I would have achieved by that point.īijou Phillips: What did you think you would have achieved? IGN For Men: I remember when I turned 25 it was like, I was thinking about all of the things I hadn't done by that point. It wasn't really big, it was just sort of like, OK great, now I'm 20. IGN For Men: Was it the kind of thing where you made a decision about the next stage of your life?īijou Phillips: Yeah. IGN For Men: Just wait until you get closer to your thirties.īijou Phillips: Oh my God, I don't even want to think about it. Now that I'm not in them anymore it's like, great, now what do I do? I'm in my twenties and I can't deal. It was hard because, I don't know, I feel like I've spent my entire adult life in my teens. IGN For Men: How do you feel about leaving your teens behind?īijou Phillips: It was really difficult. IGN For Men: You had a birthday on April 1.īijou Phillips: I had a little dinner at my friend's restaurant with some friends. During the course of a very short 10 minutes, she spoke to her dogs, lamented her passing out of her teens (she's only 20), and completely turned the tables on me, hitting me with questions and making me supply the answers. While I can't say for certain if this is the case, I can tell you Bijou was one of the most interesting interviews I ever did. Oh my.īijou has a reputation of being kind of wild. Want some more? She recently appeared nude in Playboy.
